The Movember Movement

November is here and it's gonna be as busy as October.

It started with  a short trip to Bangkok for a Thai Buddist head monk's birthday and to settle the designs for the new condo which ended up as a makan trip and me contributing to the Thai economy!

Will be heading back to Bangkok again end of the month for a bit of R & R after our trip to north Thailand.

During our trip this time, I manage to meet the monk which I met 2 years ago when he told me then that I have problems with my womb which lead me to go for a checkup and we found fibroids in my womb. This time around he told me that I should start seeking western medicine to go with my traditional medication in order to conceive. ooooo...how in the world did he know I have been taking traditional medicine?? He also told me I have until next year to produce, and if I don't then it's a lost hope! OK some people may think this is utter BS (i.e. my hubby) but to me I take it seriously as I believe in this monk, I believe he has a special vision/power and he can "see" things.

Soooo... I did go for a scan and has been consulting a fertility specialist and will start with treatment beginning of next year. Apparently I like this fertility doc, he takes thing slowly and does not push us... he wants to monitor my eggs! (FYI: hubs boys are wayyyyyy healthy!!!!)

I seriously hope that things work out and we don't have to take drastic measures!

On other note... one of my BFF just turn 30...she is going thru a phase of denial... which she would snap out of it soon...so Debs.... if you are reading this.. embrace the 30s!!! It's a BLAST!

Last night a friend of 20 years did this up for us  (* thanks weels!*) and the tags all of us, his 6 gorgeous ladies! and this is what makes me go all teary and nostalgic...

We have been friends for more than 20 years all 7 of us!!! and we have all been thru to hell and back....MANY TIMES!! and we are all still together!

Cocktails was on the menu to kick start my BFF's birthday... and also my early birthday celebration...

You can say it was a private party starting at 5.30pm in the arvo with just the 3 of us and waiters and a bunch of mozzies and yummylicious cosmopolitans and mojitos...*grin*

Just Another Weekend

I have finally recovered!! 3 very sick week... I am still coughing but at least my nose has decided to stay one my face and not run away!

The weekend was very yummy! YES! On Saturday we drove all the way to Yarra Valley to Yering Station's Wine Bar Restaurant for lunch and it was absolutely to die for!!! And on Sunday we had a fab dinner at Giuseppe Arnaldo & Sons, it was so yummy that I almost cried when the whole dinner was done! Yes I am very "tham chiak"!

On another note...

Hubs and I was lazing around last weekend and we were just talking nonsense and joking around and SUDDENLY he got all serious!

Hubs( in a very serious soft and sexy voice): You know after so many years that we are together and I just want to tell you that.........

...(his voice trails off and my heart was beating so fast knowin he is gonna say something sweet to me or suprise me with something- then he continued)

Hubs( sill in a very serious heart melting voice): ...that you look STUPID!!!!!!

*GASP*

I WAS LIKE EXPECTING I STILL LOOK PRETTY OR I LOVE YOU EVEN MORE BUT "I LOOK STUPID!!"

and he started laughing so hard that he fell off the bed. (well I kicked him off the bed!)

He quickly said he was joking! ofcoz...what else ....

But these are the moments which I absolutely adore my hubby for.... he always makes me laugh.

Yes, one of my best friend gave birth to a healthy baby boy! And yes, he will be very significant in my life just as his mom is! Born on 29th March 2009 the day of his mommy's baby shower!

My Baby Got A Boo Boo

I know I am not supposed to laugh at people that are in pain. But I can’t help it. Hubs walk into our house’s sliding door and WHAM BANG BANG!!! He walked into it… it was so loud that at first I thought he was being foolish, clowning around with me… so I did not bother much…continue smoking, then I realize it was for real… oh my poor baby… I laugh and then his nose started bleeding and I asked him to count my fingers… still ok… I iced his head, nose and lips ( all that drama in less that 10 seconds). Now he looks like Black- Chinese with puffy lips that match Angelina Jolie.

Poor Baby…Ha ha ha….

His Royal Ugliness

I have told my Dad many many times, not to feed His Majesty Scottie Meow “human food” Why? cause his skin will itch and he will start scratching and then his skin will be infected.

But NOOOOO…Dad always feeds Scottie the best part of meat, veggies, fruits, chocolates, fish, prawns…whatever that Scottie wants except his cardboard dried dog food. (Actually I have tasted it before… I understand why Scottie hates it!)

Last week, poor Scottie was itching mad… and Mom took him to the vet yesterday and voila… food allergies… Dad says it wasn’t him…the maids said it wasn’t them… he must have eaten off from either, Bronzie’s bowl or Dexter and Dee Dee’s bowl…

Consequences…a few jabs and this….

SO UGLY!!! The vet shaved off all his hair!!!He looks like that ugly Chinese dog… (dunno what it’s called). Scottie got upset when I teased him… at the end of the photo session he just walked away and sulked at one corner refuse to answer me! Ha ha ha…

He is still our baby in the family...no matter how he looks like!!

Geli-nya… but I have a “perasan” nature…so don’t care…

About a few weeks back… I think it was 2 weeks ago; my dad had a photographer to come in to his office to set up a temporary studio to take his corporate photos and some family photos. So as usual…I was up for the family photo part… but I think I look horrible… I blame the photographer… not professional enough… ha ha ha…

So let’s reveal our formal portrait….tadahhhh…..

OK…I seriously look like “lau ee” (aunty)…haiiii…. I think it’s the fatness… No NO… it’s the photographer…dunno how to capture my attractive side…
OK this is far the best... so this will be hanging at our wall... seriously... can't stress enough the photographer is shit man... the lighting all wrong... chiu...

Hubs Got The Sneeze

Poor hubs...he got hayfever ( he gets it every Spring)!! Ha ha ha... I know I should not laugh about it... but he can sneeze 10 times in a row and his eyes will swell up like puffer fish...all red and runny... ha ha ha... Poor fellow!

His Version Of Transformers

Ever since the Transformer movie came out, every single toy store basically sold out their Transformers related stuff. Hubs manage to save his old toy from my MIL giving it away…no…it is nothing near Transformers merchandise, but it is “transformer” like…

You see… hubs like to tease my MIL… just because he can do it and get away with it, and my MIL, well she is naïve and ignorant to things outside her little world.

Hubs: Mother, please don’t throw away my old robot.

MIL: Why?

Hubs: Cause it is worth thousands now!!!

MIL: OOHhhhhh OK…OK… (proceed to find the toy and clean it up and store it properly. Most probably calling all the aunties and telling them bout the “antique robot”)

A Conversation With My MIL

A conversation with my mum-in-law in Cantonese translated to English:

MIL: Ah Lynn ah, don’t use the IKEA plastic bags.

Me: Why-lar?

MIL: Very bad quality, it breaks… after a long time not using it, the plastic bags disappears.

Me: *puzzled* * really puzzled* - look at hubs *scratching my head* *still puzzled*

Hubs: Its bio degradable, which is why, it disappears.

MIL: Why would they do that?

Hubs: It easier to dispose, save the environment.

MIL: So difficult for me…aiyah…save what environment-la.

Me: look at hubs *chuckles* * slap head*

Ignorance can be adorable sometimes!

Mom's Very Belated Birthday

I know it has been a while since Mom’s birthday…and being the greatest daughter on earth, I celebrated her birthday with hubs and other two friends at KuDeTa on Mom’s behalf *wink* *wink*

SO much for being a good daughter! Anyways…one of her friends decided to “pakat” with me to throw her a birthday lunch (one week late) and it turn out great… surprise her and my Dad!! (Think Dad was jealous…ha ha ha!!)

Happy Birthday B!

Two more years and it is the BIG 3 0!!! As usual, like his so called bachelor nite which became ”bachelor month” my hubs birthday stretches for a week…starting with a drunken after work happy hour with the boys last Thursday…followed by a nice "diam-diam" little celebration at Bagan with diva Rozz serenading him with a song on Saturday.

This morning, mom made him two red eggs for good luck and I gave him a very very expensive present… A NIKON FLASH GUN!! And of cause the hand made birthday card I made on Saturday at Smida Paper.

I guess his birthday celebration would last until this weekend… this man of mine sure know how to make celebration last!!!

The Man in My Life: My Hubs

I realize I have been ignoring the fact that the most important person in my life is not only my parents, it is also my hubby… what will I ever do without him…yes sometimes he can be very irritating, annoying, immature, moody, the list goes on…but then again…this fellow makes me laugh while irritating me, and always keep me grounded (I love to build castles in the air…yes directly above my head!!!) and I know he loves me dearly…this is our short story…

We met while we were studying in Melbourne. It was his 1st year in our Uni and it was my last semester for me. That semester, I kept hearing about this Mr. Casanova (oohhh) and he is new to our campus and all girls would just fall on their feet for him! So I was interested to know who is he and what is so great about this new guy on campus. When finally I manage to meet him in one of our Student Union Pub Nite’, I was just sitting and chatting with some friends when I saw this guy with a really nice and perky butt playing pool, not bad looking…a friend of mine told me that was Mr. Casanova!!! Then I wanted to be introduced to him ASAP! ( I was desperate!) That is how I met Jack the Casanova! He was shy when we were introduced not the smooth talking or playboy type. We hit it off immediately, and the best part of it was he made me laugh after a long time as I was in a state of depression after coming out from a failed relationship, swearing that I will never be serious with another man again! He was very genuine from the very start. We were basically inseparable since the minute we met until today, literally!

I realize when I fell in love with him was when made me feel secure again. What made the deal was when he met my parents and whole family for the first time by the bus load in Melbourne and he hit it off with every single one of them, from young to old and he did not run for his life! And I realize that I am going to make him take me as his wife was when he decided to move to Penang and live with me!!! (what a big sacrifice…love my in laws for being so understanding!!!)

What can I say? I thank God everyday for bringing him to me…I pray that I am a fantastic wife, lover and friend to him as he is to me…

My Penang Gals!

My girlfrens, my "sistas"; Sylvia and Debi have been with me since gosh 9 years old? Yups!!! Almost 20 years we have been friends… even longer than me and my hubby!!! We have been through ups and downs… but somehow we are all different people… Sylvia is the cautious, wise one and Debs the one where her mouth can’t stop eating or talking. We grew up lepaking at KOMTAR…then moved on to One-Stop during our high school to college years. Sneaking out, coming back early in the morning, lying for each other…the things that normal rebellious, boy crazy teenage girls do! FUN!!!

First let me introduce Ms. Debi P. Let see at school she sits behind me and we were the noise of the class… always finding excuses to get out of classes…our main reason “Mrs. Lee the Guider wants to see us!” hahahaha… Debs @ Him Heang @ Taugeh is what we usually call her…speaks her mind…literally…she is never afraid to stand up for her own rights or anyone’s rights! No wonder she is in law… perfect line for her… one would only find her quiet is when she is sleeping or eating… did I mention eating is one of her favorite hobby apart from shopping!

Next we have Ms.Sylvia L. who has the sweetest smile…she is one who shares the passion for alcohol with me… yup...this woman can hold he booze!! This one is special… this one very obliging…she is a great listener…no wonder she can tahan me and debs…yak yak yak all the time!!! But one thing…Via @ Black Monkey @ Hippo (Gloria) is forever and ever LATE!!!! She will never be on time…never!!! since young…and until now is she is on time please go buy 4D!!!! ha ha ha ha….

Sunday Coffee with my KL Girls

Hanging out with Ma and Sha has always been very different!! The things we do, the topic we open, as if there is no barrier between us…We have been thru a lot all in Melbourne, from bad hair cuts, choosing and buying toilet detergent, raving to pushing the trolley at the evil aisle at Coles. There is so much between us that I could go on forever… they are the only girls that could snuggle up to Jack without me being upset... our relationships are at a totally different level!!! And it is something I would always want to keep…I love my girls!!!

The Woman of My Life: My Mummy

When I was younger maybe about 10 years ago, I would not be caught dead clubbing with my mom! It would be an embarrassment!!! My mom is not the old fashion type; in fact she is like the coolest mom around…I can smoke and drink with her, talk to her about all sort of stuff and best of all she loves all my friends and without a doubt my friends love hanging out with her… over the years she has become more and more like a friend.

Ladies Nite @ MoMo Penang, who would have known my mom, was there with her friends and I was there with my friends… How shocking!!! But it was cool… she has never been clubbing and it was her first time… I think she is partially deaf now from the blasting speakers… hahahaha…but she did enjoy herself (I hope!) I guess this is the start of her new social life… she used to ask me why I would wanna hang out at Starbucks when we have coffee at home served by our maids…now she is hanging out at Starbucks!! Need not explain anymore!! My dad is complaining and accusing me of influencing my mom… hahaha…poor dad!
