My BIG 30 and A Baby

Shit! I will be turning 30 this year ( this October) ! The BIG 3.0.!! Where did the years go? Everything is happening so fast! I don't even have the time to pause and reflect on what I have done or what I have not done!

This year, I think I will celebrate my 30th by having a baby (or two)! Yes! I think its about time I seriously think about producing little ones! My best friend is already almost 6 months pregnant ( and lovin it!), and two of hubs' buddies are fathers. Sometimes when I look at babies coo-ing and all I get all warm and mushy inside. And when I see the child bonding with the parents, sigh it's absolutely to die for! I also understand under all the cuteness and warmness, it is not easy to take car of a child! Financially and mentally we have to be ready! Well...financially we are sooo ready but mentally, hubs is but I sometimes want it but then sometimes I am afraid by it. Does it mean I am not ready? Not ready to give up my carefree life? Not ready to hold on to more resposibilities? Not ready for the PAIN?? ( my pain level is VERY low!) Many friends and mothers and mothers -to -be that I have spoken to have told me that all my questions and doubts will no longer exist when I have a bun in the oven and even more so when I have the cooked bun on my arms! I suppose there has to be some truth in that!

So the plan is:
1. To hump like bunnies everyday!
2. To hump like bunnies everyday in different sexual positions!
3. To monitor my ovulation.
4. Go for medicals ( to make sure our reproduction "tools" are functioning and compatible)
5. Don't stress!

If all fails by the end of this year...then we will think of something else... in the mean time, I will enjoy my hubby...hehehehehe

Wish us luck!

Ma and Her Explosion!

Just sitting and reminiscing my old Melbourne days, I could not help but to remember what my good friend Ma did with the microwave and a boiled egg with shell intact ( for those who knows about microwave will know what is coming next).

And the story goes something like this....

One fine day, while the rest of us was out, Ma decided to watch our favorite re-runs of FRIENDS on the computer and she decided that she will finally eat the egg she boiled the night before. So she took it out and stuffed it in the microwave. When it was done she happily sat down in front of the computer and resume watching the show. The minute her fork hit the egg *KABOOMMMMM*!!! Ma thought that the monitor screen exploded and when she finally open her eyes she was like "eh the monitor is still there, but when is my egg???" She looked around and found the the whole egg has exploded and was on the windows, ceiling and everywhere but in her bowl!

When we came back and when she told us the story we all cracked up laughing and her only logical defense was that she did not know the dangers of a microwave.

Till today we still remind her of the explosion incident and I think until today she has a court order to stay 10 ft away from any microwave!

Hell On Earth

The world is changing and it is for the worse ( Could be a way mother nature is "resetting" the world). Recession is on everyone's mind these days and the weather is just a filler in a conversation. Many jobs are lost, but for those who lost their jobs they still have a roof under them. That cannot be said for the Australians who have lost not only loved ones but also their homes and livelihood to the recent bushfires. The worst is the history of Australia where the state of Victoria suffered the most!

I lived in Victoria and still live there on and off, and summer in Melbourne can be a bitch hitting up to 40 odd degrees. But this time around it went up to 47 degrees almost 50! That is crazy!! I am glad that my area is not hit by the bushfire as most of them are inland and at the national parks where mostly small towns are hit! I cannot imagine what it is like to be caught in a disaster like this where one is literally watching their home burn down to nothing, where the fires are chasing them and destroying everything in sight!

I am just saddened by the disaster and wish that I can do something to help my adopted state.

For those who are in Australia , you can help by donating to the Victorian Bushfire Appeal 2009.

Let us pray that this Hell On Earth will end soon.

Oh The Condition of My Face!!! Gasp!!!

Today I will be leaving early from work... "curi tulang"( since my big Boss is not in the country), and will be heading to visit "the lady with miracle hands". Yes I am in desperate need of a facial! It has been 3 weeks since my last treatment and I can see that my skin is not looking so good from all the drinking, bad food, late nights and heat!

I will be pampered for 3-4 hours of pure indulgence of face and back massages and having all the luxurious cream slathered on my face! OOHHH thinking of it makes me feel all cosy and sleepy....

Ok times up...

Connecting From One Brick to Another

I have finally took over my dad's Black Berry ( cold storaged my super heavy and old Dopod) and got connected to the world of wireless hand held gadgets! One Word : LOVE IT! ( ok 2 words) LOVE IT!! Could not stop putting it down... I check it every 5 minutes. It is soooo user friendly and I just can't get enough of it... it made me feel so corporate!! (such a sucker!)

Unveiling The Domestic Goddess In Me

K-lin ask me if I wanted to write a topic together...of coz I sed YES, anything to procrastinate the pile of work on my desk! ( which was due like last year!!) So here goes....

I have always wanted to be a Goddess! Yes I am just a mere mortal, but... I have unashamedly declared myself as a Beach Goddess, not yet a Fashion Goddess, nor a Sex Goddess. However, there is another "goddess" in me that many do not know, unless they are very very VERY close to me! Believe it or not, I am a Domestic Goddess in training!!!

I love cleaning! Tell me what cleaning or household problems or catastrophe you have, and I will provide solutions ( most of the time except for getting rid of lizards - still working on that) I want my space to be clean and tidy and livable. I love the smell of fresh linens, clean white towels and dust and sticky free floors. I love clean white unstained walls. I love finger-thumbless print glass and mirrors. I love gleaming toilets and baths. I love ironingI love to see everything nice, pretty and in order (most people would think I have a disorder, but I see it as a positive character!) I LOVE decorating and I am still decorating until today. I love scented candles burning with sweet cranberry scent. I love art.

Being "anal" like me, cleaning and cleaning non-stop, one would think that I am totally nuts! BUT I not only clean I LOVE to cook and entertain. Yes I CAN COOK and it is all edible, I can cook Chinese, Italian, Thai, Indian, Japanese, make Greek salads, soups, grill meats, marinades, you name it... thanks to the 5 recipe books I owned and the world of Google! I did say edible rite... I did not say my cooking was superb Jamie Oliver or Gordan Ramsey quality yummy...

Even I have not reach Grade 1 status in Domestic Goddesses level, I aspire to be one someday...maybe after I pop a couple of kids? Get a bigger house with a bigger kitchen?? who knows, but my love for cooking, cleaning and decorating gives me orgasms! (just like my 2.55)

Selamat Tahun Baru "Moo Moo' Cina

Happy Chinese New Year to everyone I know and to strangers who reads about my self-absorb life! Ha ha ha!!!

So this CNY has gone by so fast... most of the time ( from what I can remember) is stuffing myself sick with food (i.e. love letters, peanut biscuits, all sort of biscuits, mandarin oranges - a killer, grilled meat also known as "bak kua", numerous yee sangs, steamboat, ee ma's rendang, my grandma's loh bak, my mom's chai boi soup), drowning myself with crazy amounts alcohol and sweet drinks ( hence the rapid weight gain of "x" kilos) and staying up really late/ early in the mornings doing what Chinese does best "GAMBLING".

And at the end of it... well technically CNY has not ended...I am suffering the consequences of it. I am suffering from sore throat, cough, runny nose, very very bad under eye bags, stressed out skin, WEIGHT GAIN!!!!!!

BUT my friends... it is all worth it and I still have about 4 more days to enjoy my CNY and it will be seriously back to work!!

So let me enjoy myself 1st and I will detox again after the festivities of makan, minum dan judi!!!

The Charming President

In my records, President Obama is "the" hottest President EVER. Looking back at all the Presidents of the United States or for any country that matter, he is one goodlookin man and such a charmer! Lets hope he will change America and pick up the mess Bush left behind... he has such a hard job to do in front of him, then again, with his charm I think he will do well!

HOTNESS!!!!

2.55 : A Fashion Icon

I have "partially" arrived at the high fashion status!( Will be full fledged when I own a Birkin and a Kelly) I finally owned a classic black Chanel 2.55!!! How in the world did this happen!! Simple... Hubby! My treat for 2009!

When he saw it at the window display I asked him if it was nice, and knowing him, he hates me buying bags he said it was very nice indeed and asked if I wanted to go in and have a look! HELL YA!!!In we go and when he nodded "yes" to get the bag I was in bag heaven floating and trust me until now I still have not touch the ground...pinching myself every second!I am still all tingling from the touch and the smell of the fine calf leather and the exquisite stitching.

There are people out there who would not agree with the purchase and would think that with the amount of $$ spend on the bag it can be put to a better use. I AGREE but in my (weak) defense its a BLOODY 2.55!!! A True Fashion Icon.

A New Journal For A New Year

I bought a new journal for next year (like I always do), I promised myself I would use it (like I always do), and I have a feeling that I will not and it will sit on my desk untouched and later on will be in my drawer and by the end of the year it will be DEEP in my drawer with stuff on top. (That is how I found my 2008 journal).

So I opened my new journal and ohhh so beautiful… fresh clean pages with lines and endless lines for me to jot down anything at all...

I sat down with my open journal and a pen and decided to write down my New Year resolutions… and then BLANK!

I will see the journal next year under piles of nonsense.

The One With The Cicaks

I was reading K-Lin’s blog entries on her fear for lizards and it “inspired” this entry. After reading her entries, I realized I AM NOT ALONE!! There are actually real people out there like me…totally freak out at the sound and sight of a lizard! Yes I know…it’s so small… and we are so big… but you don’t understand!!

I do not know how K-Lin’s fear of lizards came about, but hell I sure do remember how mine came about… actually more like a string of unfortunate events.

It all started out many moons ago with Milo…yes my morning cup of hot comforting Milo which the stupid cicak (lizard) decided that I would be ok to share my Milo with it since I was already sharing my room with its cousins!!! So can you imagine the blisters I got from it! Never mind that…fast forward couple of years, when I hit puberty, the cicak decided to base jump from the air-con to the valley of my boobies!! YES!! It landed rite in between my boobs! I will leave the rest to your imagination… The worst was during the late 90s my mom was spotting the latest curls in town and YES the cicak once again thought that mom’s hair looked like a comforting bed of god knows what and landed on her curls and got trapped!! Guess who had to remove it? ME!!! I remember well…I did not remove anything… I was too “eewwwww” and I ran and ran and ran… until today I am still running away from “it”. So yes… my fear of lizards started out when I was young.

Today, when I see or hear any lizards, I will run and scream for my life. At home I keep my windows and doors shut to make sure no lizards can come in. I check public toilets for signs of any lizards and I would rather get UTI than to share a toilet with it! I would make “shooshhhh” sound at it, bang the door, bang the wall, and scare it with a broom/mop when I see one on our balcony. If all else fail, I have my official cicak disposal man. My Hubby. Yes he will do it for a fee. He will only dispose off the lizard after witnessing my “tribal dance” complete with cold sweat and tears around the house.

So K-Lin, I am so glad we share the same fear and one day… we will conquer our fear…but for now I think I will just live with it.

Cameron Highland My Arse!

With the economic meltdown, I was advise to travel locally..."Cuti- cuti Malaysia" ! So I decided to give it a chance. To Cameron Highlands we went over the long weekend and........Cameron sucks! BIG TIME! NEVER EVER GO BACK AGAIN!!! EVER!!

Things are overpriced, rain the whole time, super run down, super traffic jam, super SUCKS!

The place we stayed in "The Lakehouse" suppose to be one of the more better place was not worth it for the price we paid. The room stinks and water pressure was low and the carpet was with stains and all. I cringe thinking about it!
Wasted my whole weekend...

How Hard Is It To Get A Blardee Tan??

Some may think I have disappeared from the face of the earth! Some may think I have abandoned my blog! But the truth is… I am just blardee lazy this few weeks/months ( I blame it on the financial crisis!). I like to call it like what a lot of people would call - A Writer’s Block. (cheh like I am some pro writer pulak!)

Been travelling a lot this year… I actually took a look at my diary and realized that for every single month this year the longest I actually stayed at home in Penang was for 2 weeks! The rest of the time I am actually somewhere… so it is true what a certain fortune teller told my mom many moons ago… “che beh tiam” (cannot sit still) ha ha ha ha!

So ok… what has pass I will write about it sometime when I can actually remember… Now I just wanna complain about my tan… So myself and hubs got coned by my mom and dad into driving to Koh Samui with the Lions Club of Bayan Baru…and at first we thought – “shit! Another bunch of old people roaring” but thank God, we found some new friends of our age group, so not so bad… got drinking kaki…I ok dee!

Back to my tan! Why? WHY? WHYYY? 2 1/2 whole BALRDEE days in Samui and all I got is a hint A TINY ITSY HINT of colour! Sigh! N not only that…. It is UNEVEN!!!! That’s it, I have decided, since I go to work later that usual, I will go for a morning swim everyday… just to get the white pale look out of the way and get some honey brown in my way

…Ok peeps, it has been ages since I posted any pics… so feast your eyes

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

Where Am I?

People say that travelling is glamorous and fun. To me, I think of super long flight, recycled air, horrible airline food, small seats with no leg space, jetlag, etc… Yes people, I am back in Penang and staying put in the country for the next one month!

I have been gone for almost four months from Penang, the minute I got back to Penang last 3 weeks was to unpack and pack for our Europe trip, and my “stopover” in Penang was 6 days before jetting off to Rome, Prague and UK. At first I thought to myself… gosh it will be fun!! Boy was I wrong, fun on ground – YES. Fun up on the plane- NO! I wish I could just beam myself to any location in the world!

SUMMARY:

When we reached Rome or Roma (what the Italians call the city) I was hit by the amount of tourist and how expensive the city was!! Not only that, it was soooo dirty! Ciggie butts everywhere and the city sticks of pee pee! But then again…the city was so old and ancient and beautiful.

After 4 days in Roma, we flew to the city of Prague in Czech Republic. One word! AMAZING!!! London was dusty and rainy (nothing to shout about) until we drove to the City of Bath (which we celebrated our 2nd Wedding Anniversary) and Salisbury which was what we were looking for in a typical English city.

My mom and I did burn a hole in Dad’s pocket by “investing” in a number of designer bags and shoes…. I did say INVEST rite….!!

Picture to follow when hubs and I finally sort out the hundreds and hundreds of photos we took

Another Round of Detox

The last of our house guest has finally gone home yesterday. A bit sad… cause now the house is so quiet, except for the sound of hubby playing WII downstairs and me watching my FRIENDS reruns upstairs.

Because of all the indulgence I had for the past 2 months… I am now paying the price. Sooo… I am detoxing again! This time for 7 days and if I don’t see the results I will go for 14 days. I need to shed 3 or more kilos this time around… best would be another 7 kilos… yes I might be a bit too ambitious, but I have done it before.

Blah… I am so hungry … gonna munch on some carrot sticks…

Later peeps!
