The One With CHYMES - The Boutique Hotel

"A Home Away From Home" that is the tag line for newly open cosy little boutique hotel tucked away from the stresses of the city life, by the beach at Tanjung Bungah.

Last night, hubs and me got invited to "go look see look see" at the opening of CHYMES. This little hideaway is open by my wedding planners ( Touching Hearts) together with some of their associates.

So so...when we arrived, we were greeted by a small signage the the front with the word "CHYMES". At the frontage, it looks like any normal beach side bungalow. Never judge a book by its cover!

So we parked our car in the hotel compound ( plenty parking space!!! I think can fit like 8-10 cars!!) and made our way to the main reception... wait a minute...there was no reception... there was like a bunch of cosy rattan tables and chairs overlooking the coconut line beachfront.... the main lobby was wowee!

Ok it may not look like the normal chain hotel kinda lobby which is soooo boring... CHYMES's lobby is actually super cosy and homely filled with antiques!! I heart the coffee table made out of the antique drum.

OK back to the topic of "reception". There is none... you will be registering at this super chic lobby/lounge where you will be ask to sign in and you get to choose your preferred toiletries and pillow from the menu!

Not only that, you get to choose what sort of rooms you want. CHYMES have 6 different type of rooms...

First up AQUAMARINE - I personally think this is for beach bums... located on the 1st floor with a garden view and partial seaview

The RED CHAMBER room is my FAV!!! located on the ground floor - its a room for those who are sexy and kinky...the decor is a mix of modern and  old very eclectic Shanghai.

Then we head upstairs to where the rest of the rooms are located.

The VANILLA BLACK room has a view of the sea with line coconut trees... the interior is old Parisian chic! In a way it's romantic....*hearts flutters*

The MORNING DEW room located on the 1st floor is a view of calmness.... perfect for those that wants to clear their minds off from daily stresses.

Next we have the CHOCOLAT and the STUDIO rooms... both rooms are twin bedded. Perfect for friends and children.

 So which is your favorite??

All rooms comes together with en suite bathroom which is so HUGE you can actually fit another bed inside! The bathroom is simple and practical with a must -have rain shower!

Back downstairs... I found the common lounge room...a medium size room to chill and listen to music, play some card games or a round of mahjong. ( got mahjong table ok....no need to BYO)..or just be a couch potato and watch mindless cable TV or DVD! OR just to surf the net from their WIFI service- (OK outside  and in the rooms also can surf the net...but just in case you want air con, plus TV and the company of new friends)

Oh ya...I forgot to mention that there is no TV in the rooms... why you ask? Well...why do you need TV in the room?... bad for romance and bad chi! I personally hate TV in bedrooms... so CHYMES fits me perfectly

Food!! we need to be fed... CHYMES serves simple fuss free breakfast and whole day refreshments... I love the traditional Chinese biscuits they have in jars all over the place!! Reminded me of my childhood... Oh! I also LOVED the fresh nutmeg juice as a welcome drink! REFRESHING...not too sweet but sweet enough to quench your thirst!

We have not stayed there yet... but the hubs and myself will definitely book into CHYMES ... I mean why wouldn't we... a getaway from the city, by the beach, friendly and attentive service, full privacy...a home away from home.... *bliss*

I can just imagine d... we book ourselves into CHYMES on Friday after work... then head to the one of the many seafood restaurant by the beach for dinner... then head back to CHYMES to chill at the garden with the sound of waves crashing softly and a bottle of white wine. Wake up bright and early Saturday morning to the smell of freshly brewed coffee. Have breakfast on the patio...then change into my bathers and grab my book, sunnies, towel and sunblock and head to the beach and tan myself while the hubs would probably put up a hammock and sleep again!

Time for lunch... too lazy to go out?... can always call for McDonalds or Domino pizza delivery (hehehehe)  then continue to bake under the sun and swim in the sea or have a romantic stroll on the beach till dinner time! Dinner we have a choice of seafood again or head to Batu Ferringhi for western or Italian food. Grab some snack and head back to CHYMES for another night of star gazing and some more vino. Check out on Sunday after breakfast or lunch.... with a smile and body all relaxed! *ahhhh* so nice hor....

Did I mention, the location is perfect for small garden/beach weddings/birthdays/anniversary...imagine fairy lights and lanterns all around the bamboo tress and coconut trees....*double bliss*

So please please please....

Check CHYMES out on their website and Facebook.

The One With The Wasted Weekend

People know I can get pretty obsess with something with I am totally 100% in it! Well... I was obsess with my TVB drama over the weekend.  Call me crazy but I did not leave the house the whole of Saturday and Sunday cause I was glued on my flat screen with lo and behold... 30 something episodes of Beyond the Realm of Conscience.

So for two days, I was in my pjs and armed with snacks and hubs( translator). I was set for my great marathon....

When the "tai kit kok" (finale) was done... I was cursing on the director of the series!!! Super anti climatic....the evil concubine and the evil head of eunuch's fall was super not nice loh... like the eunuch got stab by the evil concubine... then finish... wtf..I was expecting something more interesting on the way he died! The the evil queen just become siau siau and then forgiven!! WTF!! so many people die then like this only...Major disappointment...somemore the Cantonese super flowery loh... don't understand shit... some more subtitles in Chinese! I mean seriously if a person can read Chinese, of coz they know how to listen to Chinese rite?? then what for subtitles in Chinese??

So now... I am like super sleepy cause of the stupid drama... *yawn* and and and...I did not go for my swim for 2 days, and I did not do my groceries, laundry and other stuff... talk about wasted!

OK back to work...

Breaking Dawn - Checked!

I am lost for now! Or more like daydreaming, smiling at myself looking out from my office window, thinking about what the future holds for Bella and Edward and their new family; wondering how would Jacob fit into the family; wondering about Nessie's imprint on Jacob... sigh..wondering if S. Meyer would write the another book after she is done with Midnight Sun.

I am lost for now! I have no mood at all to continue with the reality around me!

I was reading ever so slowly with the last few pages of Breaking Dawn, knowing very well that nothing awaits me after the final page except for the word "The End". The last chapter of the book did bring tears to my eyes. Tears mixed with joy and sadness.

*Sigh* It was a very very good book, the best out of the four! I really did enjoy my journey on the Twilight Saga, and I think I will revisit the books again when the next movie from the saga come out end of this year.

I have to admit, in my previous entry, I did say I did not want to be Bella Swan or to date a guy like Edward Cullen. I take it all back... I want "that"!

For those who have not read or even heard of Twilight, I highly recommend it IF you are a romantic or a daydreamer! (not recommended for people who are "practical")

I will leave you hear while I continue daydreaming of either Edward or Jacob today! I think today I will daydream about Edward!

Eclipse - Checked!

Yes another one bites the dust! I finished Eclipse last night. Took me longer than New Moon but I have a good reason for that! I was chasing Gossip Girl!! ha ha ha ha ha!!

I seriously think I have a problem... I am reliving my younger days!

I found Eclipse a wee bit draggy, the writing was not as good as New Moon nor nearly as exciting as well. There were a lot of event reference to the last two books, so it got kinda boring...

Anyways, still good... am now looking forward to reading the next book! When I am done... I think I better pick up something more suitable for my age!

Have a good long weekend... I know I will....

Till next week...
Adios!

New Moon - Checked!

Yes! I finished New Moon in a day. Started on Wednesday night and finished it last night. Actually if I were to read it non-stop, it would probable take me 8 hours to finish the book.

Damn!! It was good, kept my heart pumping as I turn each page... It was better than Twilight. Now I am looking forward to Eclipse and Breaking Dawn.

I need to get to Borders quick!!!

*Update*

So during lunch time, I went to Borders and guess what??!! The sold out on Eclipse and Breaking Dawn!!! FRAS!!!

Never mind, I still can go to Popular... AND. when I got there.. THEY WERE SOLD OUT AS WELL!!! WTF*&%$&*^!!!!

Now I am going to suffer from Twilight saga withdrawal !! Worst of all, I can't get into another book store till tomorrow after lunch... AArrrgghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... stress stress stress... I need to know what happened next!!!!

Talk about obsession!

Care To Join Me On The Twilight Bandwagon?

So sue me!

Yes I am guilty of jumping onto the Twilight craze. I know it is suppose to be for teenagers and very young adults not that suitable for a married woman of nearly 30!

But HELL who cares! I LOVE romantic novels, movies anything that warms my heart and make me cry at the same time.

I wan introduced to this book when I was back in Melbourne a couple of years back when Borders was promoting it and I was re-introduced again to the whole saga beginning of last year. I was so tempted to buy it but something was holding me back. Oh yes the fact that I hate horror stories and I hate vampires, so I did not bother with it until the movie came out.

I was asked by my girlfriends to watch Twilight when it came out... I said NO flat out... ignorant as I am always, I kept insisting it was a dark dark movie. After they watched it, the girls were all gushing at how nice and romantic it was... for many months I would hear about Twilight and how incredibly romantic and sweet Edward Cullen was.

So in the end I gave in, I bought the DVD and sat down and watch the whole movie. I thought the movie was kinda draggy and depressing. Edward Cullen was not cute nor handsome neither was Bella Swan. So it was a let down.

Then again, they made a movie out from a novel, it must be good right?? Went straight into Borders and pick one up. Well let me just say, the book is way way way much better than the movie - full stop!

I love how Stephenie Meyer describe every single feeling of both the character especially Bella's infatuation with Edward in the beginning. It was well written and very romantic, unlike the movie. The book actually brought me to a different place, not back in time, not to the future but present time in a world just with different people. In the book I felt like I was watching them from above, every single word, every single movement, every touch, every breath...ahhhh... Well, I do not want to be Bella Swan and I do not wanna date an Edward Cullen. I just like reading about their journey, about what is going to happen to both of them in a relatioship that needs a lot a sacrifices.

So Yes! I admit, I am chasing this saga...next on my list New Moon!

Happy reading!

Cameron Highland My Arse!

With the economic meltdown, I was advise to travel locally..."Cuti- cuti Malaysia" ! So I decided to give it a chance. To Cameron Highlands we went over the long weekend and........Cameron sucks! BIG TIME! NEVER EVER GO BACK AGAIN!!! EVER!!

Things are overpriced, rain the whole time, super run down, super traffic jam, super SUCKS!

The place we stayed in "The Lakehouse" suppose to be one of the more better place was not worth it for the price we paid. The room stinks and water pressure was low and the carpet was with stains and all. I cringe thinking about it!
Wasted my whole weekend...
